My adventure began on 10th February 2015, when I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. From that day onwards, I have lived each day as if it’s my last (one day it will be) and looked on each day as an adventure – never being entirely sure what’s around the next corner. I’ve learnt that if you’re determined enough, you can do whatever you want, even when the odds are stacked against you. I’ve met people I’d never have met without my diagnosis and lost chemo sisters and lived through more grief than most people will ever experience. Because of my diagnosis, because according to the statistics I should have died 5 years ago, because I’m one stubborn, life-loving, strong, vulnerable Mum and Nanna, my mission is to live my best life every day, in spite of my diagnosis, in spite of everything life has thrown at me…because Kate Can Do This… I am an avid fundraiser and have abseiled down Portsmouth Spinnaker Tower and completed several charity walks! My super power is that I am very good at supporting others!
