7. Watch New Series : Ben Fogle in Endurance: Race to Pole Channel 5, on 2 Oct 9pm                                 

This is a new three-part documentary series with Ben Fogle, who returns to Antarctica to re-experience the Edwardian missions of Scott, Shackleton, and Amundsen. Ben Fogle and Dwayne Fields travel to Antarctica to try to find out what happened and to experience some of the hardships that these polar heroes went through on their way to conquering the unknown. Using only their Edwardian equipment, food supplies, and shelter, Ben re-enacts crucial events from Scott’s, Shackleton’s, and Amundsen’s differing missions in the early 1900s while recounting the story of the race to the South Pole.

10. Photography Exhibition Re/Sisters:

The exhibition exploring the relationship between gender and ecology, highlighting the systemic links between the oppression of women and the degradation of the planet. Works by 50 women and non-conforming artists are being brought together for the Barbican’s big exploration of the relationship between ecology and gender. The idea is to look at how women’s understanding of our environment has often resisted the logic of capitalist economies.
