Welcome to #PinkNicky’s Blog, your weekly dose of adventure ideas.
It’s Saturday morning, so grab your tea and toast.
What did I get up to this week: Back into the gym as I have a little adventure planned for the early spring next year and I need to get my fitness up again and two muddy dog walks with my neighbour. Plus I have just finished the Simon Reeves book Step by Step – which I loved. I had no idea about his background.
This week and next week are all about 12 minute films that have been entered as part of the Womens Adventure Film Festival.
I have just discovered the Play all 2023 Women in Adventure Film Competition and am slowly watching them all. I love all the women and all the stories – I wonder how many of you have a story to tell?
I have been a fan of Bex Band and her Love Her Wild Community for a long time, so this film was always going to be a winner for me. This film was shortlisted in the competition in 2022. I would love to have a go a packrafting but don’t fancy carrying them about!
Here is the description of the film:
A girl’s weekend like no other. Wanting an adventure that had never been done before (and that could happen on their doorstep), friends Bex Band and Emma Rosen attempt to packraft and hike between the longest, highest, and deepest lakes in England. Battling achy arms, bas weather, mum-guild and painful backpacks that are definitely not made for short people, the friends come away realising the importance of being ok with finding a middle ground.
A film by Roxanna Barry
Starring: Bex Band @bex_band and Emma Rosen @25before25
Enjoy the film and check out the link above to view lots more.
It’s time to get out of bed! and find today’s adventure!
