Empowering Women Through Financial Independence: A Journey of Purpose and Passion

My adventure began with the realisation that women face unique challenges in navigating the financial landscape – with stark gender pay, savings and pension gaps, alongside worrying statistics on women in debt. Determined to make a difference, I set about using my work in the financial services industry to make a difference for the women working in the industry and for the women the industry serves. Last summer I founded ‘Not the Women’s Network – a group with over 50 committed change makers in it – with the core focus of ‘changing the industry, not the women’. Earlier this year we wrote a financial health report, which highlighted the worrying statistics on women’s finances and called the industry to action, launching it to 160 people at the House of Lords. Recognising the need for tangible support, I’ve also taken on the role of a trustee for a women’s aid charity in Nottingham, where I’ve witnessed firsthand the transformative power of financial independence in helping women rebuild their lives after adversity.

Why is the outdoors important to you?

My adventure may not involve jet-setting to distant lands, but it’s no less exhilarating. It’s a journey fueled by resilience, determination, and a relentless drive to create a more financially equitable world for women everywhere.

Why do you want to be involved?

I love the work that Charlotte creates – I had a fabulous shoot with her and my family a few years ago.
