South Pole Solo Expedition

I am aiming to become the first black woman to ski solo and unsupported to the South Pole. I will have to navigate approximately 1200km of treacherous terrain from the coast to the pole, whilst pulling a sledge containing all of my provisions and shelter. The aim of the expedition is to raise awareness on Lyme Disease and to inspire increased diversity in polar exploration.

Why is the outdoors important to you?

I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease after being misdiagnosed for 3 years. After this debilitating experience, I’ve become passionate about making proper diagnosis affordable, readily available and prompt in the UK so that others don’t have to suffer as I did.

Why do you want to be involved?

I absolutely love the aim of inspiring more women to embrace adventure!
