Tickets are Live
Come and join us at The Big Swim to celebrate International Women’s Day 2025. We are looking for 1000 wild swimmers to dip together to create the South Coast’s biggest gathering of wild swimmers in Brighton, East Sussex, and Sandbanks, Dorset.

The Brighton event is hosted by PinkNicky’s Blog – A Blog for Empty Nesters and those ready to write a new life chapter and Sea Lanes, Brighton.

The Dorset event is hosted Land and Wave

The tickets go live Monday 20th January at 12 Noon. Please note tickets sell out fast. For the quickest checkout use your phone to purchase tickets via Apple Pay

The Aim of the Event:

  • To celebrate IWD 2025 and to gather 1000 of the South Coast’s Sea Swimmers in two places at one time for two very big photos
  • Unite us all through our love of the sea and show our support for women worldwide.
  • Create a noisy, colourful spectacle on the beach Watch our 2024 film here
  • To support #IWD2025  and amplify the message #AccelerateAction.
  • Fundraise for Surfers Against Sewage
  • Every Saturday watch out for the PinkNicky Blog series dedicated to The Big Swim 2025.
  • We are asking all our 1000 swimmers to commit to supporting, elevating and taking one action to elevate women in their community. We want to ensure every woman taking part can create a ripple effect long past March 8th.

WHO CAN ATTEND:

This event is aimed at women, but we know forging gender equity isn’t limited to women solely fighting the good fight. Bring your family, friends, colleagues, long-lost cousins and grannies too!

NEW TO SWIMMING:

  • If you are new to sea swimming, come down and dip your toes and soak up the atmosphere!
  • A cold March day is not the day to start your dipping journey. Instead of swimming, how about dipping your toes, taking a few photographers and writing about the event?

FILMING AND PHOTOS:

  • The event will be filmed, and photos will be taken throughout the event.
  • A group photo will be taken before we enter the water – be ready to smile and wave!

DRESS CODE:

  • Sparkles and colour

BEACH CLEAN:

  • Be ready to pick up litter and please take all your rubbish home with you.

WEATHER:

  • Please check back here and on the Facebook event page 2 hours before the event to check for weather updates.
  • Watch out for 7 am update.
  • Please note: If the weather is bad and the sea is too dangerous to swim in, the event will be cancelled.

SAFETY TIPS:

  • We will have lifeguards patrolling
  • This is a social swim and relies on everyone taking responsibility for themselves, making their own risk assessment and making their own personal decision on whether it is right for them to swim.
  • Do not enter the water if it is rough
  • Bring warm clothing
  • Bring a hot water bottle
  • Employ your own Sea Safety at the Beach
  • If you are fairly new to sea swimming please wear a wetsuit and please dip not swim and enter the water very slowly
  • It is never safe to go into the sea after drinking alcohol. Even a small amount of alcohol speeds up the onset of hypothermia in cold water
  • Do not use inflatables – blow-up toys and airbeds are designed for pools, not the sea where they can easily be swept out
  • If you are in trouble dial 999 and ask for the coastguard
  •

DISCLAIMER:

This is a social event, and you participate at your own risk. Do not exert yourself physically. If sea conditions are bad, people are advised not to swim. Participants take part at their own risk. No liability will be assumed for any injuries or accidents caused.

We look forward to welcoming you to The Big Swim 2025 – bring friends, hugs and sparkles!
